Thanks for the Memories
On April 6, 1879, the New York Times published a short piece about the upcoming holiday of Pesach. Though it belongs to an epoch that has long since passed, a kernel of relevance endures. The sub-title read: Pesach or the Passover – How it will be Celebrated during the Week. The following passage reproduced from the original is most representative:Read the full article at: jewishcenter.org
Tasting And Tweeting Do Mix At The 5th Annual Kosher Food and Wine Experience
February 22nd had been on my radar screen as soon as I found out that the 5th Annual Kosher Food and Wine Experience (KFWE) would be on that evening. Last year, I had attended my first KFWE. A Kosher Feast Brews In Brooklyn
Last month, I schlepped out on a very cold winter evening with my fellow kosher foodie friend to Chelsea Piers. We weren't there to learn more about the incredible amount of activities for families that Chelsea Piers has to offer. We were ready to sample the kosher cuisine of some of New York's restaurants and caterers and leave room to sip Kosher wine from around the world. Read the full article at: travelingmom.com
Kosher Food and Wine Experience in NYC
I was privileged to attend this year’s Kosher Food and Wine Experience on February 22 at Chelsea Piers in New York. Dozens of kosher restaurants and vineyards were represented. I was struck by the slogan on the T-shirts for Pomegranate, a kosher supermarket in Flatbush: “Absolutely, without a doubt, the No. 1 Deli in the world.” Is the best Jewish deli now part of a grocery store? If so, this would actually be a return to the deli’s roots as a take-out gourmet store. And truly, the sausages and honey mustard corned beef were to die for, along with Shabbos specialties like cholen, kishke, and chopped liver. Read the full article at: blogs.dickinson.edu

Not your grandfather's gin
I learned to drink from my grandfather. I watched the class and panache with which he drank and understood that he enjoyed it, deserved it and its what men of his era did. And the bottle he reached for was always one containing gin, a spirit that I have since had a tremendous soft spot for in my heart.Read the full article at: thejewishstar.com

Forty-eight hours before the Kosher Food and Wine Experience (KFWE) began, disaster struck. I fell victim to a horrific stomach virus that I feared would keep me from attending. The Kosher Food and Wine Experience: A Remarkable Journey
Recently I had been trying to firm up a kosher supervision for retail use of Dashi powder. In my catering days I used to order it from Daniel Berlin at Sushi Metsuyan, so when it came time to write my upcoming cookbook, where I wanted to include recipes using dashi, I thought, who better, let’s see if Daniel would be amenable to packaging the incredibly useful and delicious fish powder for retail use.Read the full article at: levanacooks.com

Kosher Food And Wine Experience
Kosher wines have improved greatly in the last 20 years. Much of the credit can be given to the Golan Heights winery in Israel, which ignited the quality wine revolution when they released their first wines in 1983.
